Email going to junk

Usually not the message. Something else has been sending as your business.

The instinct is to blame the message: too many links, the wrong words, an attachment. It is usually not the message. It is that something else has been sending mail as your business, and the receiving system has stopped being sure which sender is really you.

What you may notice

  • Invoices reach some customers and not others.
  • One recipient's system junks everything you send.
  • It started after a new tool was connected.
  • Mail from a staff member is fine but the accounts address isn't.
  • A newsletter platform sends as your domain.

Establish who is allowed to send as you

We check the records published for your domain, which services are currently sending in your name, whether each is authorised and what the receiving systems are reporting back about them.

This is usually the moment a business discovers how many things send mail as it: a booking system, a newsletter tool, an accounting package, a form on the website somebody set up in 2019. Deciding which of those should still be allowed is the actual fix, and it is a business decision rather than a technical one.
