IT ISSUE · APPLICATIONS AND SOFTWARE
Licence expired
The renewal notice usually did arrive, just in an inbox nobody checks.Licences rarely expire because nobody was told. They expire because the telling went somewhere nobody reads: a card that was replaced, a mailbox belonging to someone who left, an account in a bookkeeper's name from the year the software was bought.
What you may notice
- An application opens in read-only or reduced mode.
- Someone is signed out and can't sign back in.
- A renewal warning appears that nobody recognises.
- A payment failed against a card that was replaced.
- The renewal notice went to an address nobody monitors.
Restore the licence, then fix where the notice goes
We identify the licence, the account holding it and the person or mailbox it is registered to, then work out what needs to happen to restore normal use.
Renewing it without changing where the notice goes just moves the date. The question worth answering while everything is inconvenient is which subscriptions your business depends on, who they are registered to, and what happens to each one if that person is unavailable. That list is usually shorter than people fear and almost never written down.
